The truth is often ugly, yet we call a truthful man more respectable than a liar. How is the truthful man supposed to be of good character when the truth is ugly? Is character a romanticist and thought a realist? Such compartmentalizing seems useless. Man is a whole being, not some anthropomorphic divided plate.
